01 · Public transport in San Francisco
San Francisco fits buses, electric trolleybuses, six light-rail lines, the historic F streetcar and three cable cars into 49 square miles — and most of it climbs a hill.
Leidaro pulls live vehicle positions directly from the same public feeds that the SFMTA publishes. Every bus, train and cable car on the map is exactly where it is right now. Tap a stop and see the next arrivals with real countdown times.
A Muni single ride is $2.85 with Clipper, MuniMobile or a tap of a contactless bank card, and it covers 120 minutes of travel; cash on board is $3.00. A day pass is $5.70, a monthly pass $86, and the cable car is $9.00 on its own.
Muni runs 68 lines: 58 bus and trolleybus routes, six Muni Metro light-rail lines plus the F Market and Wharves historic streetcar, and three cable car lines — about 3,240 stops in all. BART, Caltrain and the ferries are separate operators in the 511 region.
Leidaro was built for public transport that publishes open data. In San Francisco it uses the SFMTA's public GTFS schedule (published through 511 SF Bay) and its real-time feed to show the exact position of every bus, train and cable car.
Download the city once and the static map data (stops, routes and directions) works even without internet. Set up alerts for your daily routes and save your favorite stops.

03 · Questions
Yes. Leidaro uses the same public GTFS feed that the SFMTA publishes, so it covers all 68 Muni lines — the buses and trolleybuses, the six Muni Metro light-rail lines, the F streetcar and the three cable cars.
Not currently. The San Francisco feed Leidaro downloads is the SFMTA's Muni feed. BART, Caltrain, AC Transit and the Bay Area ferries are run by other operators and published as separate feeds.
Absolutely. Download San Francisco once and all routes, stops and timetables work without a connection.
Yes, the core features are included in the freemium plan, with no ads and no account needed.
Not yet — Leidaro is an Android app (Android 7.0+). If an iOS version happens, you'll hear about it here first.
Vehicle positions and countdowns come straight from the SFMTA's real-time feed, so you see where the buses actually are — usually only a few seconds behind reality.
No. Leidaro is an independent app built by Minrax. It is not affiliated with the SFMTA, the City and County of San Francisco or any other transit agency — it uses the public GTFS data the SFMTA publishes.
With a Clipper card, the MuniMobile app, or a contactless bank card tapped on the reader; cash on board still works on buses, and riders 18 and under ride free (cable cars excepted). Leidaro itself needs no account or ticket.
04 · San Francisco's transit network
Muni is the SFMTA's network: 58 bus and trolleybus routes, six Muni Metro light-rail lines (J, K, L, M, N and T) plus the F Market and Wharves historic streetcar, and the three cable car lines — California Street, Powell-Hyde and Powell-Mason — 68 lines and about 3,240 stops.
Most trips run along the Market Street spine and into the downtown subway, where the Muni Metro lines dive under ground. The 38R Geary, 14R Mission and N Judah carry some of the heaviest loads in the city.
With Leidaro you see this entire network live — every bus, train and cable car on one map.
The GTFS data comes from SFMTA and is published through 511 SF Bay, the Bay Area open-data portal.
